MEET OUR 43RD ACADEMY GRADUATES

Trooper Bryce Bilharz #509

Trooper Bryce Bilharz (ISP #509) graduated from the 43rd DPS Basic Academy. Trooper Bilharz is assigned to District 10 in Oelwein. He began his career as a reserve officer and worked as an EMT for a local ambulance service. We are excited to welcome him into the DPS family!

Trooper Christopher Burrows #465

Trooper Christopher Burrows (ISP #465) recently graduated from the 43rd DPS Basic Academy. He is assigned to District 1 in Des Moines. Trooper Burrows worked in law enforcement prior to joining the DPS. He has a passion for alcohol & drug enforcement, proactive traffic enforcement, and training new officers. Trooper Jeremy Cole (ISP #489) recently graduated from the 43rd DPS Basic Academy. He is assigned to District 6 in Spencer. Trooper Cole graduated from Moravia High School, and worked in law enforcement prior to joining the DPS. Congratulations Trooper Cole!

Trooper Luke Ferguson #466

Trooper Luke Ferguson (ISP #466) recently graduated from the 43rd DPS Basic Academy. He is assigned to District 3 in Council Bluffs. Trooper Ferguson graduated from Harlan High School and served with the United States Marine Corps before joining the DPS. Congratulations Trooper Ferguson!

Trooper Trevor Kabala #121

Trooper Trevor Kabala (ISP #121) recently graduated from the 43rd DPS Basic Academy. He is assigned to District 16 (Capitol Complex). Trooper Kabala graduated high school before enlisting in the United States Air Force. After basic training, he attended technical training to become a Geospatial Intelligence Imagery Analyst where he was then assigned to the Air National Guard in Des Moines. Trooper Lively attended West Marshall High School, and later graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Agricultural Studies. Congratulations Trooper Lively!

Trooper Tyler Mikkelsen (ISP #225) recently graduated from the 43rd DPS Basic Academy. He is assigned to District 5 in Cherokee. Trooper Mikkelsen graduated from Atlantic High School. He worked in the cattle industry and as a welder prior to joining our team. Congratulations Trooper Mikkelsen!

Trooper Jacob Murphy (ISP #474) recently graduated from the 43rd DPS Basic Academy. He is assigned to District 4 in Denison. Trooper Murphy grew up on a family farm, and graduated from Highland Community Schools in Riverside, Iowa. Congratulations Trooper Murphy!

Trooper Aaron Ockenfels (ISP #479) recently graduated from the 43rd DPS Basic Academy. He is assigned to District 4 in Denison. Trooper Ockenfels enjoys playing guitar with his family's band, hunting, and being outdoors. Congratulations Trooper Ockenfels!

Trooper Aaron Onder (ISP #496) recently graduated from the 43^rd DPS Basic Academy, assigned to District 8 in Mason City.  He was prior certified, and worked as a police officer in Iowa.  Trooper Onder earned a Master of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Arizona State University.  Congratulations Trooper Onder!

Trooper Taylor Pratt #483

Trooper Taylor Pratt (ISP #483) recently graduated from the 43^rd DPS Basic Academy, assigned to District 5 in Cherokee.  His father, Jeff Pratt, is the Sheriff of Monona County.  Trooper Pratt earned a degree in Criminal Justice from UNI and is a member of the Iowa Army National Guard.  Congratulations, Trooper Pratt!

Trooper Mathias Robinson #525

Trooper Mathias Robinson (ISP #525) recently graduated from the 43^rd DPS Basic Academy, assigned to District 11 in Cedar Rapids.  He attended law school at the University of Iowa.  After law school, Trooper Robinson took the bar exam.  He is currently licensed in Iowa and Washington State to practice law.  Congratulations Trooper Robinson!

Trooper Elizabeth Sibenaller (ISP #494) recently graduated from the 43^rd DPS Basic Academy, assigned to District 6 in Spencer.  Elizabeth graduated from Buena Vista University earning a degree in Criminal Justice and Spanish.  She was also a member of the BV College basketball team.  Congratulations Trooper Sibenaller!
