Ed Thomas Law - Iowa Code Section 229.22

Effective July 1, 2010, Iowa Code Section 229.22, as amended by SF 2352, requires notification of a specified law enforcement agency prior to discharge of a patient brought to a hospital or facility for emergency mental health treatment by a law enforcement agency for whom an arrest warrant has been issued or charges are pending.
