- Seal, initial and date all containers of evidence.
- Place the suspect or victim name on the evidence containers that contain the biological specimen (cup, bottle, gray topped tube and etc.).
- List specific requests for analysis in the comment section when logging in the evidence.
- For urine alcohol analysis place urine samples in a gray topped tube with 100 mg sodium fluoride and 20 mg of Potassium Oxalate or some other equivalent preservative

Routine analysis of blood samples typically includes both alcohol and drug analysis. Routine analysis of urine samples includes drug analysis and alcohol analysis by request.”
