Field Operations Major
Major Troy Bailey has worked for the Iowa Department of Public Safety for over 27 years and currently serves as the Field Operations Commander based in Des Moines.
He began his career in 1996 as a Trooper in District 11 - Cedar Rapids.
His job duties include: Ensuring integrity and accountability in the delivery of support and services to the public and other entities of state government, creation and application of short and long-term operational goals, provide guidance and direction to Area Commanders, and Assistant Field Operations Officer. Support, assist, and facilitate the implementation of goals and objectives for the Iowa State Patrol.
Major Bailey is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Academy, and a graduate of Police Leadership: The West Point Model. Prior to his service with the Iowa State Patrol, Major Bailey served in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard.
