State Fire Marshal Guidance For Determining Occupant Capacity

STATE FIRE MARSHAL GUIDANCE FOR ESTIMATING OCCUPANT CAPACITY DURING COVID-19

The following guidance can be used to help estimate the occupant capacity for certain businesses and establishments as permitted by the Governor’s supplemental proclamation (dated April 27, 2020). 

This is not a method to obtain an official occupant load for an occupancy.  You can obtain an official occupant load number from a licensed architect, as there can be additional factors to consider to ensure the occupant capacity is accurate.  This information is intended to provide an estimate of the permitted occupant capacity for certain businesses.
