State Crisis Intervention Program

The State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP) is a new federal grant resulting from the Safer Communities Act. The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act also seeks to ensure that extreme risk protection order laws — commonly referred to as “red flag laws” — and programs are implemented in accordance with the Constitution and provide for adequate due process protections.

John R. Justice Student Loan Repayment Program

The Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy (ODCP) administers the John R. Justice (JRJ) Program. The program provides loan repayment assistance for state and federal public defenders and state prosecutors. Participants must agree to remain employed as public defenders and prosecutors for at least three years.

Pseudoephedrine Tracking

Iowa's electronic pseudoephedrine tracking system is called the National Precursor Log Exchange (NPLEx). Pharmacies began reporting all pseudoephedrine purchases electronically to NPLEx no later than September 1, 2010.
