The Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) Formula Grant Program is administered by ODCP. RSAT assists in implementing substance abuse treatment programs in correctional and detention facilities.
RSAT programs provide individual and group treatment activities for offenders and must:
- Last between 6 and 12 months.
- Be provided in residential treatment facilities set apart from the general correctional population.
- Focus on the substance abuse problems of the inmate.
- Develop the person's cognitive, behavioral, social, vocational, and other skills. The goal is to solve substance use disorders and related problems.
Applications for funding must be received by the Office of Drug Control Policy by 4:30 p.m. March 8, 2024. Applications will be submitted through Iowa Grants, which is an online grant management tool. Registration is required prior to submitting an application. Registration may take several days to complete.
