WINTERSET, Iowa - This is not a press release from the Iowa Department of Public Safety. It is being distributed on behalf of the Madison County Sheriff's Office.

On July 29, following an investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation into the July 21 shooting death of Jonathan Hoffman, Madison County Deputies arrested Gerald Parker (41) of Creston. Parker has been charged with (1) count of Murder in the 1st Degree. Parker has been booked into the Madison County Jail. The investigation is on-going. 

Jonathan Hoffman was found shot to death in rural Madison County at the intersection of Grandview Trl & Macksburg Rd at around 3:30 PM on Tuesday July 21st after a delivery driver found him face down in the intersection.
