BETTENDORF, Iowa - The individual involved in the September 3, 2020, officer-involved shooting incident has been identified as Timothy Alan Clevenger, 53 of Silvis, Illinois.  Clevenger was struck once and was pronounced dead at the scene. As previously mentioned, the Bettendorf police officer has been placed on administrative leave, and his name will not be released until he has been formally interviewed by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).  

The DCI, in conjunction with the Scott County Attorney’s Office continues to conduct an independent investigation of the incident.
