WYOMING, Iowa: The Iowa State Trooper and Delaware County deputy involved in the September 21, 2020, Jones County shooting have been identified as Trooper Tyler Remley, a 21-year veteran of the Iowa State Patrol. Trooper Remley voluntarily interviewed with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. Trooper Remley remains on paid administrative leave pending the investigation.
Also involved in the shooting was Delaware County Deputy Clayton Miller, an eight-year veteran of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office who has 21 years of service in law enforcement. Deputy Miller voluntarily interviewed with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. Deputy Miller remains on paid administrative leave pending the investigation.
Upon completion of the investigation, Trooper Remley and Deputy Miller’s interviews, along with the investigative facts, will be forwarded to the Jones County Attorney’s Office for review. No further information will be released at this time.
