ONAWA, Iowa - At approximately 5:42 p.m. on May 10, 2024, the Monona County Communication Center received a 911 call for a shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Granite Street in Onawa.

Deputies arrived and located a deceased female, later identified as Stacey Allen, 47. Jamie Allen, 48, was taken into custody without incident by the Monona County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Monona County Jail.

Jamie Allen has been charged with Murder in the 1st Degree, a Class A Felony. The Monona County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.

No further details will be released at this time.

Note: A criminal charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
